Frances Le Sueur Centre – Habitat management

St. Ouen’s Bay forms the largest Park area on the island, and we’re lucky enough to be based there, at the Frances Le Sueur Centre.

The centre enables us to work with our partners to provide information and education on the Park. It is constructed from reclaimed timber and is set back in a quiet, natural habitat along the Five Mile Road at La Mielle de Morville, home to many species of plants and animals.

Recently, our friends at Nurture Ecology volunteered their time and expertise to helping us give some much-needed attention to the pond next to the Centre, with much of the material costs covered by a grant from the Channel Island Co-operative Society’s Eco Fund.

Nurture Ecology also help us with our educational aims by running programmes like Earth Kids, as well as helping us raise awareness about the land and habitats surrounding the centre, and the importance of protecting the area’s unique biodiversity. Watch the video below as Paul Wagstaffe tells us more.
